Screen Saver Gallery can finally start automatically when your computer is inactive!
This is a bit of a technical achievement for me because the app is now 6 years old!

Turns out the solution was fairly easy. A Windows screensaver is simply an exe
file with a scr
extension. I was able to make a simple helper file which starts the SSG app as needed.
- Update the app to be start-able in
screensaver
,config
, andinteractive
mode. - Create a helper
.exe
file inC:\Windows\System32
with a.scr
extension - The
.scr
file is triggered by Windows, and the file starts Screen Saver Gallery in the correct mode.
